[#660000]New reservoir is stocked with trout [/#660000]
SPANISH FORK — First it opened to swimming. Now, it's fishing. The Utah Division of Wildlife on Monday stocked the new Spanish Oaks Reservoir with 2,500 rainbow trout. The division every will stock the five-acre, concrete lake with about 1,000 fish every two weeks until September.
Spanish Fork built the reservoir last week for water storage and to help pressure for the new citywide irrigation system. The reservoir also has picnic tables and a sandy beach.
The reservoir is next to the Spanish Fork Gun Club.

Now just try to find this pond.[]
[laugh]I grew up there and was a member of the gun club (wish I still was) so I know where it is. Try hitting 4 out of 5 clays from the porch sometime (50+ yds. from the traphouse). I never tried it, but some of them even shot from the roof.
It's actually pretty easy. From I-15 turn on Highway 6 towards Price. From Highway 6, turn West/Right at Little Acorn restaraunt, follow the road past the golf course. Past canyon View Park, and past the water diversion plant and you will see a road to the left with a sign (Spanish Fork Gun Club). Turn there and follow the road up the mountain. I'm sure it's changed a little since I was up there, but that doesn't change where it is.
From Salem, just take the turn towards the golf course and it should be pretty easy from there. If you see the golf course, turn around and read above.

Is the new Spanish Fork reservoir open for fishing? I was up there Sunday and the sign at the entrance said "Reservoir Closed" yet I was able to go up there and check out the amenities( fish cleaning station, new restrooms, paved parking lot, etc). Its not the biggest reservoir out there but it looks really well put together.
