I had a trip planned for Wednesday but my partner got sick and cancelled. With the weather stormy, wet and overcast is it worth still trying to fish in these conditions or best to stay home close to the fire and do honey-do's?

What experience has everyone had when a cold front has come in? Will the fish still bite or have lock-jaw?

Also, does the moon phase have that much impact on the fishing? Does anyone rely on moon charts to make their fishing trip plans?

Let me hear what you BFTers know. Acey

There is no bad day to go fiahing acey. I have weathered some of the worst weather of my life on fishing trips. Sometimes I catch nothing others I catch the big one. I do use the solar and moon cycles for fishing. Do I plan trips around them ..... no. Currently I am keeping a log and comparing it back to trips were I just went. I revamped my aqurium to a larger size and larger fish and the wife and I are oberving their habits. Not real sceintific but interesting to say the least. Can you catch more during the full moon? Maybe if you are fishing at night. Now the new moon seems to mean better day time activity, so maybe a better chance during the day. Then theres the tides, the solar influnce, oh my what can we do? Go soak a hook tomorrow and let us know how ya did acey.

There was a pretty good thread in the polls and surveys board about the moon and it's effects. Check it out if you would like. I'll pull it back up to the top to make it easy over there.

with weather like it is I would only fish for trout, I don't think you would have much luck with anything else this time of year.

Oddly, it was stormy, but I caught a lull in the storm to catch two big fat LMB last monday at lindon. So I dunno, I'm sure you can catch it if the presentation is just right for that conditions. Mine was very slow and in front of their nose, just plainly pissing them off into a frenzy fit.
