Very good report. I thought just as much because of the weather (rain/snow) can slow their metabolism rate where you just got to get it in front of their nose to bite. I see a clearing in the weather pattern starting friday, so I beleive I will be there this saturday for the morning, then it's "hey ho... hey ho... hey ho... off to work I go..." afternoon/evening shift. I hope saturday will be abit more productive before another storm sets in sunday throughout the week.

I see this weather as a good sign for the water, all this rain coming down with new snow in the mountians with great regularly should be filling in slow and nicely in our reserviors and for the farmers. (All this rain is good news for farmers and even greater news for us anglers so they don't use the water as much for irrigation purposes right?!)

[cool] Yea that was a fun trip, all kinds of differnt weather. the west bank, where the fire was last year is looking nice, alot of light green color just about every where. the walleyes were in just about 20 feet, the water temp was 49 at start and stayed 50 the rest of the day. later chuck

Were you guys using jigs and crawlers for the eyes? Do you use GPS to check your speed when you were trolling? Thanks for the report and the info. WH2

OK TOOK THE EYE ON A #11 DEEP DIVER RAPALA PERCH ON THE BOTTOM IN 19 FT . LURE WAS MAKING CONTACT WITH BOTTOM. CONTOR TROLING. WALLEYE INSINDER HAS HOW TO TAPES IF YOU REALY WANT TO FIGURE THIS METHOD OUT BUY THE TAPES. YOU WONT BE SORRY. CHUCK AND MYSELF HAVE ABOUT THE WHOLE SET. WHEN THE EYES GET MOORE ACTIVE WE USE BOTTOM BOUNCERS TO LOCATE ACTIVE FISH THEN WE MARK EM. THEN WE SLOW DOWN AND USE LINDY RIGS. THIS HELPS US TO PICK UP MOORE FROM EACH SHCOOL . DONT WAIT FOR LUCK TO HAPPEN MAKE YOUR OWN. CROSSINEYE

I'm there this coming saturday! Look for Tracker boat with a pirate flag patrolling for eyes.

I am thinking of heading out that way next week in my float tube. If the weather isn't too bad, I will probably float out by the island,

Was the Rapala Deep Diver you used similar in size and shape to the old Storm Deep Diving Thundersticks? Were you trolling with mono or fireline?

NO THEY ARE FATTER THAN STORM LURES MOORE PROFILE. I WAS USING 8 POUND MONO STREN. THEIR ARE SOME GOOD SHCOOLS ON THAT WEST BANK. IN TWO WEEKS THEY WILL BE ON A BETTER BITE. THEY STILL HAVE NOT SPAWNED EITHER. CROSSINEYE

Hey Chuck, did you try any jigs and crawlers? If the eyes haven't spawned yet, when do you think they will start?
[signature]
Hey Curt, yea we tried jigs and crawlers, lindy rigs with crawlers and differant color beads. the walleye should start spawning any day now. should be with in the next 2 weeks. 3 weeks ago the walleye were still in 40 feet of water last week they were in 20 feet of water, so they are on there wat up. later chuck
