I fished Smith & Morehouse today from 7:30am - 1pm. What a great day to be alive and be able to fish. I started from the boat ramp in my Kayak and headed towards the dam. I missed 3 hits by the time got to the dam. I was trolling a crawfish shad rap. The Dam was red hot today. I trolled up to the inlet and then swiched to a silver Mepps. I caught only one with the Mepps. I swithed back to the Shadrap caught some more on the way back to the Dam. At about 10am the wind started to really blow but the fishing was still good. I fished the dam again and caught another 6 fish there. I headed back down towards the inlet on the east side and stoped for lunch near the beaver lodges. I caught 3 more while I was trying to eat my lunch. I caught these on night crawlers casted out from shore with no weight. from there I worked the east side and the dam again then back to the ramp.
I had the water almost all to myself. There was only one other guy in a toon on the water. He told me that he had caught 2 small Rainbows and lost a bigger one. There were people fishing from shore.
On the way back to the paved road I stopped and fished the stream for 10 minutes. I caught a beautful 14" Cutt. I caught it on a night crawler.
I ended up with 25 planter Rainbows (10" - 12" from the lake and 1 Cutt from the stream.
What a great day to fish. There was no clouds. It was so quiet that you could hear the woodpeckers.
