Hey all,

Had class last night, what a downer, one fish in 2 hours...off bottom planter rainbow, phooey!!!

almost had to use one kid for bait, he was a demon, wading in the water, tossin rocks...pounding rocks on rocks on the bank....birds nested his spinning outfit i dont know how many times...i lost count after 8. really. Had to actually tell him I will talk to your parents tonight. man that made me feel old, but I have been there done that, and I made sure my parents were talked to for much more than the fact I was not listening. oh well....

on the bright side. the guy from the DWR said he was personally doing the surveys last week and tipped me off, jordanelle provo inlet, all the rainbows and browns to I think, are staging to run up the river and spawn, he said goto Rock cliffs park by the river mouth and use reaction lures to get em going......spinners...salmon pattern flys...bright and obnoxiouse for them to get mad at and hit it....so theres your tip off too....I may or may not make it...but I though I would share with all my fishing buddies here at BFT baby!!!

i dont think the browns will be spawing but they will move up in there and try to feed on the eggs. the rainbows should habe spawned already in there unless they are planting a later spawning strain. thanks for the info.

Hey at least you had a class mine will probably be cancelled for the 2nd time in 4 weeks![pirate] I was so exited about thursdays class i have this one kid who stays an extra 30 minutes to fish with me! I taught him how to use spinners and he is hooked on them. He loves to cast .

The last three times I have been to Willow Pond with the kids there has always been about 100 people there floating a warm and taking home everything they catch. Does not matter the size, they are taking them. I am sure some are eating, but I wonder if most are getting killed for no reason... Kind of upsets me it is not a catch and release pond. I just want something close and good so that my kids fall in love with fishing like I am.

Just my thoughts.

THE DWR STOCKS THAT POND TO BE FISHED OUT EVERY 3 WEEKS SO THEY WANT EVERYONE TO CATCH FISH TO KEEP AND BOOST THE URBAN FISHING THING, ITS MOSTLY BECAUSE OF ONE SIMPLE FACT...IF MORE PEOPLE CATCH FISH THERE AND ENJOY FISHING, THOSE PEOPLE ARE MORE LIKELY TO GO OUT TO ANOTHER BOADY OF WATER AND TRY TO EXPAND THEIR SKILLS. THE URBAN FISHING PROGRAM IS REALLY A FISHERPERSON RAISING PROGRAM...GET EM FISHING AND GET EM OUT TO OTHER BODIES OF WATER. THAT IS THE IMPRESSION I GET FROM ALL THE URBAN PONDS.

BUT YES THERE ARE ALOT OF PEOPLE THAT WILL NEVER GET OUT TO ANOTHER WATER, IF THEY ARE TOO OLD, OR JUST WANT TO EAT FISH I DONT KNOW...I HOPE TOO THAT THOSE PEOPLE ARE NOT JUST KILLING FISH SO THEY HAVE FISH...I THINK THEY SHOULD FRY EM UP AS SOON AS THEY GET HOME, BUT YOU AND I AND WE ALL KNOW THAT MOST OF THOSE FISH GO INTO THE FREEZER AND GET EATEN AT THAT WEEKEND FAMILY SHIN DIG.

Well you make a good point. I did not know they stock it every three weeks, if they do then good. I just know when I take my kids if they do not catch any it is hard to get them up in the mountains to fish cause they might only catch one or two and not get that excited.. Thanks again for the info.
