Kansasville - In celebration of the opening weekend of fishing, Bong State Recreation Area is holding an All-American Fishing Derby on Saturday for children ages 6 to 16.
The event is from 8:30 to 11 a.m. at Shelter 2. Children may register the day of the event and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Participants may bring their own fishing equipment or use Bong-provided equipment.
The area is off I-94 on Highway 142. Admission is free, but a park entrance fee is required. The entrance fee is $5 for residents for the day and $10 for non-residents.
