Recently, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department released 112 adult bass they've retired as brood stock from the Jasper Fish Hatchery. Most are 10 to 11 years old and weigh 6 to 8 pounds.[/#000000]

[#000000]"These fish produced millions of fry to be stocked into Texas waters over the years," said TPWD fisheries biologist Tim Bister. "Now we're putting them out to pasture, and people will have a chance to catch them. They are big, healthy fish, and the survival rate should be fairly high."[/#000000]
