Fished Jordanelle around the Rockcliff area on Sunday. UncleRay and I were paddeling allove the lake in his inflatable. Started out at the ramp and headed out to the inflow of the Provo. with no luck coming we headed along the cliffs on the south side on the lake and were not marking hardly any fish. Onesy, twoseys was all and not enough to stop for. Finally found a spot where we were marking fish regurally but could not pull anything up. so we hit the paddles once again. we headed out towards the no wake marker on the north side of the lake and found a small cove. anchored the boat found a bush to empty the bladders and started tossing our lines on the water. Then the fun started. We were catching chubs one after another. all in the 1-1 1/2 pound range, boy those guys can fight. At first we thought they were white fish but later found out they were Utah chubs. Well I've got lots of bait for catfishing now. It was a lot of fun catching any fish. We were using a worm on a fairly large hook and a 1/4-1/2 oz weight and dragging it across the bottom oor at least near it. Sometimes I would hook up a fish, set the pole down with the line in the water and behold another fish on and I was not even holding the pole. Caught 30-40 chubs easily, had 12 in the cooler for bait later and also caught my fair share of perch too, took home 20 for a good meal. It was a good day fishing, even if we only caught bait for later except for the perchies.

Oh yeah fish tacos tonight!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone need any bait?

Nice report! I've never fished the 'nelle before. I'm hoping to check that off my list this summer.

Nice report, how big were the perch? I stopped this evening for an hour in the west end of the lake where the old highway comes out of the water and all I caught was the bottom. Lost about 10 jigs in the rocks and brush, no fish at all to report.

How'd you get down in there? Everytime I go by the gate is locked and the old road down has been blocked off for the joggers.

its always locked you have to walk. its been that way for as long as i have been fishing the lake at least.

Perch were about 8-10" max but they made a nice meal but a lot of work filleting them for so little. Just doing my part to reduce the number of perch in the lake.

Road & aquaman:

Rockcliff is the area over by Francis, the gate is always open after about 7-8am and the road disappeears into the water. When we got there there were about 12-15 other vehicles parked there and a lot of boats, toon, and tubes in the water.
