Your a braver man than me. I work at a new golf course going in between Kamas and Jordanelle, so I'm up there everyday. The wind has blown every day that I have worked there. I keep waiting for it to calm down so I can bring my pontoon boat up and fish after work. There hasn't been one single calm day after 10:00 am in the last month. I'm still waiting to experience the not so smallmouth of Jordanelle.

I was up there on the 8th with willfishforfood. I fished from about 12 until 4:30. Not a single bite. We fished all over the RockCliffs area. I'm glad to hear that it wasn't just me. Hopefully it will pick up a bit in the upcoming weeks.

A bad day at the lake is better than a bad day in the valley. Hope you had a good time with the family. With all the wind I bet the cooler lid got a good work out! LOL! How bout headin to the jordan SAT. Morning? Later.

What were you guys fishing with?

Tube jigs, spinners, and rapalas all worked for us.

I assume you were fishing for trout not smallmouth.

But fishing for smallmouth will get you some trout at this time of year.

Bigger trout will hit plastics such as curl tail grubs, and tubes, you can get tons of 12 - 14 inch rainbows trolling spinners with popgear.

Or a great dual purpose lure right now is rapalas. We caught trout on clown color HJ8's and my 4 year old boy picked out a yo zuri crystal minnow that was about 4 inches long in blue and chrome and that lure was in the water all of about 30 seconds before he had his frist fish on it. I was surprised. when he picked it out of the lures I had for him to choose from, I cringed, it was the last one I would have picked.

On the rapalas, and plastics, casting them to the bank in the rock cliff arm can get you some nice borwns.

Maybee we just got lucky, but we caught plenty of fish all over the lake. We caught trout, perch, bass, and even suckers. That was wierd. I had a sucker hit a tube jig, one on a HJ8, and one on a spinner. Good to see plenty of big agressive suckers around to feed the browns, bass, and walleye in there.

Better luck next time.
