Can someone who actually has a hydraulic jackplate answer a silly question?

The question is...At slow trolling speeds, If the motor is lifted to its highest level, is the boat speed reduced? If so how much difference in speed?

Thanks

Come on guys. Doesn't ANYONE have a hydraulic jack plate?[shocked]

I believe it will slow the speed by cause more aeration behind the prop. Less water behind the prop provides less mass in witch to apply force to.

I believe you're right. I was hoping I could get some real world numbers. Do you have a jack plate? How much difference in speed between "full up" and "full down"?

Thanks

Dude, I have no idea what it will do. I wont even guess, but, if you wait until 2006 I will tell you. I iam going to get one put one my boat when i buy a new engine just under the grandfather clause on two strokes. 225 screamin HP on a hydraulic jack plate baby.

Sorry,, I have no numbers for you,, nor a plate,, just speculating under simple laws of physics.

What is a hydraulic jack plate? Obviously I do not have one...

Its a device that goes between the transom and the motor that allows you to move the height of the engine up and down to gain optimum performance out of your engine.
