Went to Strawberry Solider Creek This morning

With the longer daylight hours the fish don’t seem to be in close like they have last couple weeks. We got to the dam about 7 am and they were in the process of moving deeper we did catch a couple right off the bat nice 20 plus inch cutts. It turned off by about 8:30 we stay until about 10:30 with a couple other light hits.

From the dam we moved to the stairs (fisherman a plenty) lots of water now coming down the stairs bites were few, we did catch a couple nice rainbows.

We saw an old timer catch a sucker and an other old timer cut a slab of meat from the side of it and used it as bait. About 5 minuets later he hooked up with a huge rainbow around 8 lbs I would guess. Not many other fish we saw get caught today on the shore. Its has been a little slower this spring from what I remember the past couple years. Or maybe my timing and placement is wrong.

we were using Rainbow colored tube jigs frozen minnows power bait worm & mellows
Thanks for the update. I've been wondering how the berry has been lately. Too bad this past year has been so slow (generally). Good luck on your next trip.

Just out of curiosity, what is the size limit for trout up there? 21 inches, right? Lemme know if I'm incorrect.

1 over 22, 2 under 15, 15-22 must be released
