but I still came up empty.

I went to Pumphouse Cove this morning, around 7 am. the only bite I had was around 8:15. I sat by my new Carp Rod, and 1 minute after I sat down by my rod, the line started running
out.

I got so excited, a bite on a new rod, now fish since 1997', that I set the hook too soon and lost it. Sad

I've seen some fish jumping right out of the water, and one monster fish surfaced about 10 feet off one of the points, directly down from the road out..

A guy in a Hornet RV caught what looked like 2 small stripers or 2 nice trout.

I then drove over to Hole 33, to see what thats like. Walked all the way down to the water, saw a bunch of stripers or capr surfacing ( they were dark colored ). That looks like my next place i'm going to go to.

With rod that long, you could have set the hook and pull the fish out of the water all in one motion.

I'll tell you though, the length that pole fires out is incredible.
