Willfishforfood and I hit Utah Lake on Saturday and did pretty well. We anchored the boat right at the end of the bubble up pipe around 8am and each caught a couple Channels in the 12" range. Around 10:00 I caught a 22" Channel. It was a huge fish and looked like it was ready to lay eggs so I let it go. Then we moved about 50 yards to the south and were in 2-3 feet of water. After an hour or so he had a huge hit and reeled in another cat that looked to be a few inches larger than my big catch. However, his line broke right at the boat so we never got to see the whole fish. Right as his line broke, my pole started dancing and I reeled in a fish that looked to be about 6 inches longer than my first catch. However, Right has he got to the boat, I pulled him up a little and he actually bent 2 prongs on my treble hook and fell off! He was enormous. After that, the wind picked up so we left around 1:00.

It was a fun day at the lake and the fish in the picture is the biggest one I have ever caught. I will definitely be hitting that area again, probably on Saturday.

Glad to hear you had a good day. I fished AF Marina from shore for a couple of hours (4 pm - 6:30pm ) and caught one 14 in. mudder. I must say I had never eaten a mudder before... pretty darn tasty though. 20 minutes from water to belly...grilled with cajun spices.

Add some lemon pepper to that cajun and you'll like it even better.
