Really wanting to take the Fam on a picnic tomorrow. Wife wants to drag the boat somewhere. My question is which am I more likely to get into some fish. Willard or Rockport?

I'm very familiar with Rockport, puddle that it is but don't know much about Willard. Are the wipers still out by the Lightpole?

Any other suggestions? I would like to not tow the boat up the hill if it's possible, It's that I don't want to come back down with the throngs of others pulling their boats and trailers, and we are going to camp at Yuba next week and if I go to rockport I'll want to leave the boat at my brother in-laws in Park City. (I leave it there all summer so I don't have to pull the hill.

I would go to Rockport. The bugs at willard are really bad right now and could easily ruin your picnic. If you know rockport you are more likely to find fish. The only way willard would be ok is if you get a slight breeze to keep the bugs away but not to strong or you wont be able to fish.

You might get lucky at Willard and get into fish, but your odds are much greater at Rockport to catch some fish, especially if you are willing to settle for some perch. Another consideration is Rockport will be busy at the ramp, but Willard will be a zoo. The difference in bugs between the two has already been mentioned.
