It was a great time. I went Last year the end of July first part of August. Great Place to go, I want to go back next year if i can save up enough cash. Some highlights of my trip were my dad caught 113 lb Halibut and I was most proud of my 16 lb Silver. If you go take your Fly Rod because at night you can fish for pinks from the shore by the camp (alot of fun!) Let me know if you have any more questions.

Thanks for the info. How was the silver fishing?? About how many a day did you catch? I want to go more for the Salmon fishing more than the Halibut fishing. Is the equipment and facilites as nice as it looks in the broucher??

My son , father-in-law and myself are heading to Doc Warners this July. We will be there The last week of the month. My uncle has gone three years in a row and has this year booked also. He says you can't beat the way you are treated and the fishing is just a bonus.

Henries, the Silver Fishing was great and only gets better in August. As far as qty. of fish each day caught, let's just put it this way, we were busy all day! There are plenty of pink's to catch too and halibut is more fun to fish for than you might think. There equipment is good, but my only recommendation is maybe take a line counter reel like a Daiwa 47lc (20 to 25# test line) or something like that. The salt water is hard on reels and we had trouble with one reel there(we lost a big silver), but it would have been nice to have a back up on the boat. As far as the problem with the reel it was promptly taken care of by them(new reel) as soon as we came in to the dock.

Had to chime in, I would recommend Calder Mountain Lodge myself. Been to both places and I'm not saying anything bad about Doc's but they book way too many people at a time and their prices are 600.00 more per person than Calder Mountain. Book the last week of August and you will fill up on silvers, big silvers everyday if you want. The place is beautiful and the people are fantastic and lots of whale activity everyday close-up too. Just remember that both these places are self-guided and it's more work than fully guided, but more rewarding to do it yourself.

Just my two cents [fishin]
