Fished the north dike of Lindon Harbor for a hour and half, and caught 3 largemouth bass, 2 of 'em were 16 inch fatties, while the 3rd was a real hawg at 20 inch, huge belly, huge mouth that you can drive your fist into it. Made for a great fight!
Then went to AF harbor, it sucked! Nothing, nada, not a bite! I saw three guys in the boat on the south dike fly fishing... didn't see 'em catch nuthin'! So I hightailed it out, headed for Saratoga's reeds, where I was fishing for bucketmouths, when I caught a sweeet mother of a catfish, a huge one, I would say easy 30 inch or more, but couldn't get it in the boat as he broke my rod! My favorite trusty fenwick!!!! That bad cat didn't want to be brought in... dang I had my drag on alright, but as I was reaching for my net, the cat charged under my boat, and I wasn't ready as I was off balanced between my rod and reaching for my net, my pole bended more than double and there was a clean cracking sound of my rod, and I was in disbelief... so I quickly cut the line, so I can retrieve the broken half of my rod! !@$#! freakin cat! I knew he was a heavy cat by the looks of his head, and his tail was huge as he surfaced... I couldn't beleive I lost it and my rod was broken! Argh!!!!!! But good thing I have several (6) rods as a back up...
I fished on 7 more, but they were small mud cats... they seemed to love the tube jigs... designed for bass. They aren't finicky eaters! More like voracious eaters, like pigs!!! Then hadda go home to take the family to PG city pool for a great holiday swim, and head for work for the late afternoon/evening shift. It was a great holiday on the lake.
