I'd still like to make a run to Bird Island for cats. My boat is a 17ft deep V.

Last Saturday the water was only 2 feet deep at some points along the dike. The harbor is fine, it is the channel going out to the lake that is the problem.

I have 18' lund and lauched out of Provo boat harbor last saturday with NO problem. Yes, I charted a spot going out into the channel at just 2.5' but just stay on the north side of the jetty/channel and you'll be fine. I saw some BIG boats being launched and going to and from the lake.

I went out to Bird Island for some kitty action in the evening and had great success. FIshing started out slow until I switched from the standard nightcrawler and shrimp combo to using some round beef jerky we were eating. I couldn't believe it, those kitty's loved the Jerky??? On Memorial day, I launched from Lincoln and found that area too low for comfort! I charted 1.5' at some locations along it's jetty. I trimmed up my prop to almost out of the water to and from the boat launch area at Lincoln. I did see two stern drive boats that had taken out their props when launching from Lincoln. [Smile]
