fished with theekillerbee and fishmagnet. got to huntington res this morning about 7am launched the boat the usual way down there (let the trailer roll down to the water) started to target the tiger trout with the silver lures, krocodials, flat fish, jake spinners fishmagnet was the only one to catch a tiger trolled the whole lake with very few bites so we decided to head over to Electric lake launched at the boat ramp (nice boat ramp) and started trolling towards the dam fishmagnet got a few on his jake spinner fly setup but theekillerbee killed us both trolling a gold flatfish, i only caught one and it was on a small rainbow countdown rapala. weather was far with a little W

ran into fishingwaters as we where leaving. all in all not a bad day. good company and lots of laughs

The weather was a little cool, but not too bad. The wind blew on and off, but never really got out of hand. I think the cold front really shut the fishing down for a few days. The tigers sure had lock jaw! I think they get if from their German Brown half.

E-lake was pretty fun. I'm surprised at how deep that lake is. It is close to 100 feet deep and it is at least 50 feet low. Forturnately the cutts were a little more willing to hit our lures. We did boat a couple of cuttbows as well, but not a single rainbow.

Does anyone know if the regs are still artificial flies and lures only? There were signs posted near the dam, and by the boat ramp (what stinking boat ramp). If it is, shame on a few BFTers for not following the regs!!!![Tongue] But I won't mention anyone's name for the sake of fuzzyfisher and ocean![Wink]

It was a nice trip, and it was nice to meet and fish with fishmagnet. He is a class act, and a good fisherman. However he just kept on saying he only wanted to talk to the fish[sly]

Here is a pic of the biggest cutt today. It was very colorful.

theekillerbee taught fishmagnet and i to talk to the fish today. i was so inspired by talking to the fish that i went and hugged a tree[Tongue]

Petty forgot to mention that my Atomic bugger fly was the second best lure of the day and caught the biggest fish.

Don't be trying to pin the "talking to the fish" thing on me! That one belongs to TKB but it must work because he caught the most.

All in all it was a nice day to be out on the water and the company wasn't bad either.[Tongue]

hey killerbee glad to hear you did ok up there.. look in the proc. dude the DWR lifted artificial only 2 years ago.. but it is still artificial on all the tributaries on the lake after july 10.. as for how deep the lake is it is down 102' feet from spillway as of 3 weeks ago..

i wish they would get E-lake fixed soon tho so i could get my big boat in and have some fun on that lake again.. that's one of the most beautiful lakes around here and there not to meny people there most the time so it's nice place to fish..

I had figured that they had lifted the regs...They just need to fix the signs...no harm no foul[Smile] We hadn't planned on fishing E-lake, so we didn't even check the regs. But I'm glad we made it over there. It sure is a beautiful place. Do you know if they have an actual plan to plug the hole? I personally think they ought to just let it drain out, fix the hole, then start all over from the beginning.

Those regs are for the tribs only.I always catch my cutts there with spoons and my kids use worms and minnows.I have always had better luck on the dam side.gLAD YOU GUYS GOT INTO SOME FISH!

yeah i think they have a plan to fix the lake that will work out for all but the mine people.. the last i heard from the powers that be is that they plan on shouting down the mine sealing it up and just let the mine fill up with water then the lake will start to fill up as soon as the mine is full.. that all i have heard about it..

dude on fish?

[cool]Sounds like a good time, guys. Sounds like the fish at Hunington won[Tongue], but glad you got into some at e-lake. Can't wait to fish those two places on july 24th. My wife's family has property up there at the top of fairview canyon from generations ago before it was dubbed national forest. Fishing should pick up up there as it warms up the next week or two.

Thanks for the update fuzzy. I'm glad they at least have a plan to get it fixed. I wonder when they plan on implementing the plan? Hopefully soon. It sure was a fun place to fish.
