Fishing for smallmouth, finally got into some decent ones up there. my biggest for the day was 16 inches.

Idiot'ed into two tigermuskies while fishing the smallies. You should have seen it, it was quite a sight, me cursing these muskies cause I didnt want them to break my 8 lb test and steal my lure, and all the musky fishermen in disbelief that I didnt want to catch a musky.

One broke me off as I was trying to tail it. Stinking thing got away with my lure that time. The second one I was able to tail and retrieve my lure, but it was so tore up from teeth I had to get a new one on anyways. 36 inches on the one I tailed, and I am guessing 30 on the other one, but didnt get to pull him out of the water to see.

Lots and lots of smallies though. I averaged fish in the 8 - 12 inch range, and like I said had several of the nicer ones for the day as well.

Had to leave around 5:00 since the water skiiiers were showing up in seriuos force out there.

Hotter than heck out there around 3:00 but I have been applying lessons learned from "The Smallmouth Instructor" otherwise known as tomegun. See the wind started blowing pretty good around 3:00 and the waves were crashing on a point pretty good so I moved around the other side and knocked down a bunch of fish cast after cast. Apparently tomegun knows a thing or two about activating bass. Now if he can just get me into a fish or two on that there sterile lake, jordanelle, I will be alright.

Sweet report! Glad to see that Pineview has some bigger bass in there, I thought it must have, just takes a pro to ferret them out. Fishing cranks I would guess, or spinnerbaits on the windy side of that point? It's nice when the fish cooperate. Congrats on a good day and on the muskies too.....lol. Nails

Nice Report Pred . I need to get MGB to want to fish for smallies and we might hook more muskie . Amazing how much water is still there . I think it has only dropped 3 ft from its peak .

I just remembered , last sunday right after I release my muskie I seen a Vulture on shore . Then I looked closer and seen it was a muskie he was dining on over by Anderson Cove .

~~~~ thinking to myself >>> Man oh Man! Dang whiny Bass fishermen! Some guys will complain about anything! They just cant be pleased! Yeah it must be hard to have to put up with those pesty Tiggers messin' with ya while the Smallie await. Some of us may never get a chance to see one up close and personal and this guy is whinin' he got pestered by two in one day?!!?!?!!!~~~~
Hey Predator, I feel your pain.
Great report!![Wink]
The same thing that happened to Predator happened to me, I was fishing for bass throwing Senkos, and a muskie bit it cleanly right in half, and so I through a topwater and the fish blew up on the bait and bit my line off before I was able to set the hook, I was kind of annoyed because I first off missed the fish and I didn't have another topwater and those are expensive (especially for a young married student), so I feel his pain.
