What a beautiful place to spend some time away from the valley. Had to drive up Thursday afternoon and pay for an extra night of camping but it was worth it. Old Coot and Scottieb stopped by and said hi as we just finishing the setup. Did not get much fishing in but the fishing we did do was very productive, 4 in 2 hours. Little 8-10" planters caught on a garlic mellow and worm off the bottom.
Ralph, thank you for the offer to take us out one of the mornings. My kids just did not want to wake up to go and this weekend was all about what they wanted to do. Thank you again.
The temps were great, no mosquitos (at least they were not interested in eating at my campsite). Very cold at night and overall wonderful!
Wish I would have taken a camera with me but I left it at home on the counter top next to my wifes fishing license.

Thanks for the report. It sounds like a nice quiet weekend out of the city. It seems no matter how well I plan a trip I always forget something.

[red]I was looking at a map of the area and it said something about a boat ramp at Smith-Morehouse, is that true? Can you get a trailered boat on it? I'm going to be spending a week at the Gorge and a coupla more in the Uintas and this was one of the places we were looking at. [/red]

There is a nice paved boat ramp up there, and you could even launch a large boat from a trailer. Be aware that it is wakeless speed for the entire reservoir.

There is a boat ramp there and it looks to be a concrete one as well. It is a dirt road up to the lake, only about 3 miles worth and not a bad one either. There were a bunch of bigger boats (19-22') out there this weekend. Old Coot can answer, in detail, the specific boat launching questions you might have. Shoot him a PM, he is very knowledgable on that resevoir. I wish I could have gone out with him this weekend but the cards just did not work out that way.

That's probably better anyway because we only caught 3 in 4 hours of trolling. I think that bait was the ticket this time.[/#804000]

le came visiting by for a drink in the lake. Scottieb got some pics of the bull moose and maybe he will post them. Lots of busy beavers over on the east side of the lake too.[/#804000]
