Took the tube out again, this time with my fish finder, but not Sparky. Boy, was he pissed when I got back!!! Anyway, had moderate success catching 18 between 11-13in. Boy, a 12 in. smallie fights every bit as much as a 18 in. trout or a 16 in. LM!!!!! Didn't mention last time, saw 2 Osprey. Even hooked into a smallish Tiger. Went barreling thru the weeds and made a big jump throwing my little lure. Fun!!! Best guess, about 2-2 1/2 footer. Didn't know Tigers jumped!!!????. Lots of geese and some sand hills. Booters stayed pretty much away but still got bounced around. A little windy for good controlled fishing in a tube.

It's good to see that your tube is staying wet. I bet sparky would have liked to have the fishfinder strapped to him next time instead of staying behind but I don't know if a dog could tread water controllably for that long.[laugh]
You never can underestimate the power of any species of fish. Some are good fighters and othters are wimps. Smallies definitely don't like to be called wimps under any circumstance.
All in all I guess you acquired some table fare and got some kicking excercise with the wind. hmmmmm......... Maybe that's where Sparky wanted to fit in on the next trip. He does have a triple purpose then.
1. Companion
2. Fishfinder mount.
3. Emergency tow for windy conditions.
I just hoped he doesn't stay mad for too long.[cool]

HeGotAway,
Ok, I've struggled with this a bit. Usually, if I am asked, I answer any question I get on the forum because I think it's a good thing to help fellow anglers. There are a few exceptions. Sometimes the particular area can't stand very much pressure. So ------------------ I will answer this way.
Smallies are all over the lake and if you spend some time on your own you will find your own, probably better spots than I have found. I must admitt I learned this spot from a fishing buddy and he has asked me not to post detailes, which, by the way I agree with.
One thing that's particularily fun, is when you're exploring, you might tie into a Tiger. You won't forget that experience, even if you lose em, which you probably will.
