Fished the Gorge this weekend. We got into quite a few kokanees in the morning around Horse shoe canyon and the Red cliffs. The kokanee were smaller on the Utah side than the Wyoming side. We spent 8 hours fishing hard for lake trout with steel line and down riggers. We used K-15 kwikfish and Flatfish. We fished mostly 80 to 90 feet of water in the Antelope Flats and Linwood bay areas. We trolled around 1 to 1.5 mph (as slow as I can go). We didn't even get a bite!!??!! This is not the first time I've been beaten by the Lake trout. I have been fishing hard for them all summer and have not gotten one over ten pounds (atleast not from the Gorge). It seems like some of you guys go up every now and then and slay them, where the Gorge is in my back yard and I fish it frequently and can't seem to buy a large mack. Are you sure you guys aren't getting you Macks on Photoshop? lol. Anyway, I need some help, because I'm starting to not enjoy mack fishing as much as I used to. So please pitch in and give up some secrets or advice, except on Photoshop. BLM?, anyone? P.M.'s are OK too.
