PIERRE, S.D. – Newton Hills State Park near Canton will host the 25th annual Sioux River Folk Festival from Friday, Aug. 6, through Sunday, Aug. 8.
The folk fest kicks off with a concert beginning at 6:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 6, with performances by Fiddler Nelson, the Canote Brothers, Foghorn Stringband and the Duhks.
The entertainment line-up continues through Saturday, Aug. 7, and Sunday, Aug. 8, with shows by 5 Mile Chase, Oyster Stew and High Plains. Friday night performers will also present shows through Saturday and Sunday. The folk fest will also be hosting workshops from 10 a.m. to noon on both days with performances to follow. Sunday morning features a gospel show from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
