Being one of those guys who heads up to the Columbia for my yearly big fish fix - I just wanted you guys to watch the fish counts on the Columbia - Right now the summer run of steelhead is running strong and soon the Up River Brights will be coming on.

Here is the link for the fish counts: http://www.fpc.org/

I know it's a great effort to go that distance for a fish but the results will make you come back year after year.

Expand your horizons and make some memories

That sure is a huge amount of salmon moving up the Columbia, what kind of shad are there in the river? Are you planning on leaving soon for your big fish fix? WH2

I wonder how they recognize a wild steelhead?

This year was a record shad run - they are a fun fish to catch and a great bait for large gators (sturgeon) when used whole.

The wild verse hatchery fish are the same as Utah - the fin is cut.

One month before I head up North - second weekend in September. Got a whole butch of new lures too try.

You boys going up for any CJ Strike action this year?

"You boys going up for any CJ Strike action this year?" I can't speak for all of the boys, but this boy plans on going up at least one more time this year. Have to let the weather cool down a little more first. I have to get some more use out of my second pole permit. Who knows, if you are willing, maybe we can catch you again on the backside.

They must get an up close and personal look at those fish if they can see whether or not a fin is clipped.
