I will most likely make my purchase in the next couple of days. Man its getting harder to make a decision. I will make a little comparison of the two.
Togiak 350lb capicity FC 275
Togiak can't find size FC 44" X 54"
Togiak nice apron FC will have to be upgraded to Tubedude Rigid
Togiak small space behind seat FC looks too have a huge space.
Togiak numerous small pockets FC two huge pockets.
Togiak Non padded stadium seat FC foam seat.
Togiak less seat height than FC. Just what I have read.
Ok one thing is why is the Togiak rated for a bigger person than the
FC? I can't compare the sizes, because so far nobody list one for the Togiak. The FC looks to have more bladder to the rear to support seating. How big is the space behind the seat of a FC?
It looks like the FC is winning the battle again due to poor info on the Togiak, but I can swing by the BPS tomorrow on lunch and look over the Togiak in person. I can't find anybody local with the FC. I know most people here are really likeing the OUTCAST line, so I will not be afraid of it and I do kind of like the Rigid apron. Plus I have seen pictures of FC's that I like the Rod and DF setups on. I have yet to see the Togiak with any kind of a custom setup.
Its like a tug of war. Man I need to hit the lake and worry about lures and stuff. LOL
If I can deck out the FC like the attachment I copied from an earlier post, then I will probably get the FC. The other Attachment is my now sold fishing platform.
Not for sure if the ATTACh. made it or not. One was my nitro fish ski 18' the other was SHRIMP in the FC on the TUBEDUDE fishing trip.

[cool][#0000ff]Hey Parstealth, you are doing your homework well. Just to help you visualize what a tricked out Togiak might look like, I am attaching a couple of pics of some Kennebecs...which are substantially similar in pockets and D ring configuration.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]I am also including a pic of my Super Fat Cat, showing the storage area of the back compartment...and how my new lightweight 3-tube rod holder installs. The Fish Cat series is about the same configuration as the regular Fat Cat, but with a couple of cost saving features. The size, pocket space and storage area are just about identical.[/#0000ff]

Well I have noticed the Fish cat is a little smaller than the fat cat and the apron rings are farther forward on the toon. So I was hoping I could still fashion some sort of rigid apron. The kennebec pictures helped me with my suspicions. That Apron is almost useless for a stable tackle area, so I am counting it out for the Rigid. The weight capacity is still bugging me though. It would look like the Fat cat would hold just as much weight as the Togiak. Maybe the seat is not as strong or something? I would also have to setup some sort of base for a depth finder since the Fish cat doesn't have the same front pocket you have on the Fat cat. Plus I am suspicious of the free trout membership being hidden in the price of the Togiak, so the Fish cat might be of better quality for the money(no free gimmicks to sell it[shocked]).

Well I looked over the pics again. I don't like how the Fish cat is folding in on the picture of the other moderator(can't remember name). He looks to have less room now. The Kennebec seems to hold a little more true with ample room for moving around and not fealing cramped. I don't know how much the fish cat guy weighs though. It could be due to the stabalizer in the Kenn keeping it apart more. I guess the chair is supposed to keep the Fish cat from twisting in. I also noticed the Fat cat is 10 inches longer than the Fish cat. Most of the pics I have to review are the fat cat. I did read where you would not buy the fat cat again, but would get the Fish cat. It is by far not a small craft at 44" x 54". Its 4 inches shy of a 2 man boat and almost 5' long. That's almost as long as my nissan pickup bed. LOL
If I could just see the two together. That would finish the deal for sure. I could always buy the Togiak and be happy considering I might not ever see a Fish cat[url "javascript: addTag('

The FishCat4 is a nice tube for the price. It gets you out to the fish catching areas and is easy to manuever. Here is a couple of pics for you to check out.

[cool][#0000ff]I think that having the ability to see the craft (and to try before you buy) would help solve your uncertainty. Unfortunately, that is not always possible.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]I debated a long time before I bought my Kennebecs, and thought they would be ideal. Then I found out I didn't like the small pockets, the way it handled in the wind and the valves on the air chambers. Also, even though the stabilizer bars helped keep the two chambers apart well, they are a pain to set up and take down every time you launch or beach the craft.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Similarly, I lusted after the Super Fat Cat for a long time before I popped for the $369 to get one. I loved the big pockets, the pointed bow for handling waves and wind, the storage area, the PVC coating on the bottom, etc. [/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]From my first trip, I fought with the wimpy apron and getting the seat adjusted right. The SFC has an inflatable seat, so if it is not properly aired up, it does not provide good stability to hold the two sides apart, and it lets you slide forward. Two hard and it is a pain in the backside after a few hours on the water. I am tall, at 6' 3", and the seat does not come up very high on the back, so it is not nearly as comfortable as many other craft. In fact, there have been trips when I have had a backache for a couple of days afterward.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]We got the regular Fat Cat for my wife. It has the hard foam seats, like the Fish Cat, and she likes it fine. I have tried it on a couple of trips and I think I prefer the foam seats to the inflated...especially for a hundred dollars more for the inflated.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]So, even thinking that you know what you are getting is no guarantee that you will be deliriously happy with your final choice. Just make the best informed decision that you can, based upon what you know and what you think you want most, and then make the best of it.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Over the last 40 plus years, I have either owned or tried countless different makes and models of float tubes, Uboats and Vboats. I will soon be adding a pontoon to my "stable". I doubt I will do any kayaking. Too old and inflexible for that stuff anymore.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]My point? I should have some idea about how to select the perfect craft for me. The good news is that I make fewer mistakes these days. The bad news is that I still miss some things that turn out to be less than I had hoped they would be.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]I wish I had had a forum like this to play on about 40 years ago. But then, my stone computer wasn't hooked up to the tin can and string internet.[/#0000ff]
