with ottercreek so low i would assume that there would be a high concentration of fish in a small area of water (http://www.sevierriver.org/reservoirs/teacup.php3) and with it closer to my home i have been thinking that with the low water the fish would be quite hungry, if they havent starved to death or died of lack of o2, have any of you given it a try in the last little bit, if so how did you do? or have you ever tried a lake in a simmilar situitation, also do you think that it would be worth my time. i think that it may be a good chance to catch some nicer trout or even a smallie or 2.

Years ago I fished Indian Creek Res. by Beaver that was no more than a puddle left and caught lots of fish on Power Bait. On the other hand if the fish are stressed with the heat and low exygen because of the low water they might not even be in a feeding mode and you waste your time. Go try it though and report back and let us all know how you did. Acey

fish4fish -- I wouldn't expect Otter Creek to be better fishing now, than when it is full. I don't think that there would be more fish concentrated what water is left, I think that what fish were in there would just move on up stream or down stream and leave the mudd puddle all together.

While reading your post, a thought kept going through my mind......"why is he wasting his time on Otter Creek when Black Canyon is so close???"

black canyon? i have heard of it and even talked to a hatchery truck with a load of browns headed for it, but can you give me better directions to it? is it stream fishing? i am taking my gf with me and i enjoy stream fishing but i want to go someplace new that she will have a good chance to catch some fish.

After traveling down there last summer and finding nearly every large bow we caught had sores (probably from parasites due to the low and warm water conditions) I decided I'd pass on Otter Creek Res. this year. I hear its basically just a mud hole now and thats a shame because Otter Creek is one of my favorite get away to spots..

fishy4fishy -- Black Canyon is just south (upstream) of Antimony. It is the EF Sevier River. Take your gf, and fish it. You will most likely catch more fish than OC. They will most likely be in better shape too! It is an artificial only section, and there is some private stretches, but the DWR owns a good section of land. Good access on the newly reconstructed sections...

Wait on Otter Creek for a couple years, when (hopefully) it has some water!

ok i probably willl give that a try instead, thanks for your help.

coldfooter- i would have to pass on the fish also if it had parasites on its skin.
