took both my sisters kids up to vivian park to fish. we got up ther about 3:00 and had dinner as the kids ate I fished the river "provo with a killer moose spinner. I hooked 3 in a half hour. then took the kids to the pond and what fun for them all hooked fish "there were 5 kids with me" a school of fish were just ten feet out and anything that hit the water the took. we use mostly white powerbait.

Thanks. we only kept it because it was her first fish and she wanted to take it to show her dad. we let go lots thats to circle hooks. and there the only hook to use with kids.

For whatever stupid reason, I have never thought of using circle hooks for the kiddies (I have 3). I just got a gift certificate to sportsmans, I guess I'll add circle hooks to my wish list.

circle hooks do they hook in the jaw better than a reg hook ive never seen a circle hook used it just looked like to me that the hook piont wouldnt penetrate to aesy what size were you using ill have to try them with power bait so i can release a few more

I'm not an expert on circle hooks, but I know a lot of people here use them for catfishing specifically. The fish will tend to hook themselves. I'll let the others on the board fill you in more.

What size are these circle hooks you are using with PowerBait and where are you purchasing them? The circle hooks that I have seen appear to be too large for use with it.

I was probably fishing the river by vivian park the same time you were, but I didn't have any luck. I was using blue fox spinners, gold color. They have always worked great on the browns in the Provo. I usually catch a few in the 14 inch range, but this time no luck.

I't was size 8 and 10 hooks. I think I got some at sports and some from the net but not sure if it was bass pro or where. I had to use a bit more powerbait then I would have liked just to float it but it worked I have tried some down to size 18 but dont seem to work as good as the size 8 hooks
