Full Version: Enjoy A Sand-Filled Day at Indian Creek Recreation Area

[size 2]PIERRE, S.D. – Because people are never too old to spend an afternoon playing in the sand, Indian Creek Recreation Area near Mobridge invites visitors of all ages to take part in a number of sand-based activities at the Sands of Oahe event on Aug. 28.[/size]
[size 2]The event will start at 2 p.m. with a walk along the beach and a scavenger hunt, as participants learn about the various animal prints, birds and beach plants on their list. After the walk, visitors can try their hand at painting with sand and making sand candles. There will also be a demonstration on how to dry and preserve flowers using sand.[/size]
[size 2]Participants are encouraged to dress accordingly for the weather and wear insect repellent. There is no cost to participate in the day’s events, although a park entrance license is required.
