Well my fishing partner and our 2 dogs (Sparky and Tomo), went to the Snake below Burley as suggested by Predator and Maniac. It was mostly a scouting trip to kind of learn the area and do a little fishing for smallies in our tubes. The first day was just driving there, driving the roads and picking a spot to camp. Tried down close to the dam, no luck. It was windy and cold so we didn't use the tubes. Next day, still a little breezy and cold but tried from shore near our camp on the north side. Not much, just little guys. Did catch one keeper. Decided to do some more scouting for better habitat, most of the areas we had been trying was pretty shallow. Ended up on the south side along some deeper watter, rocks, etc. and had much better success. Used the tubes which also helped. The wind was much calmer. Just like any place, you have to spend some time and learn the area and how to fish. The qucamole II reaper was still the best producer. Had some Maniac stuff but didn't give em a fair test. Had the reaper on and just didn't take time to change when we we in the better area.
Sorry Maniac, we'll give em a much better shot when we go back, which we will!!!! Do want to try em at Jordanelle, Pineview the Gorge, Mantua, etc., etc.
Sparky is dead to the world today! He ran and swam with Tomo day and night!
