[size 1]Well my fishing partner and our 2 dogs (Sparky and Tomo), went to the Snake below Burley as suggested by Predator and Maniac. It was mostly a scouting trip to kind of learn the area and do a little fishing for smallies in our tubes. The first day was just driving there, driving the roads and picking a spot to camp. Tried down close to the dam, no luck. It was windy and cold so we didn't use the tubes. Next day, still a little breezy and cold but tried from shore near our camp on the north side. Not much, just little guys. Did catch one keeper. Decided to do some more scouting for better habitat, most of the areas we had been trying was pretty shallow. Ended up on the south side along some deeper watter, rocks, etc. and had much better success. Used the tubes which also helped. The wind was much calmer. Just like any place, you have to spend some time and learn the area and how to fish. Only spent a few hours before heading back but it was pretty good. The qucaole II reaper was still the best producer. Had some Maniac stuff but didn't give em a fair test. Had the reaper on and just didn't take time to change when we we in the better area.
Sorry Maniac, we'll give em a much better shot when we go back, which we will!!!! Do want to try em at Jordanelle, Pineview the Gorge, Mantua, etc., etc.
Sparky is dead to the world today! He ran and swam with Tomo day and night!

Sounds like fun. I'll bet you already have your next trip planned, and that you don't waste a lot of time driving around.

Sometimes a bit of observation and preparation can make future trips a lot more enjoyable and productive.

Hey there leaky,

Sparky and Tomo huh?! Tomo in Japanese can mean together or is a short version of tomodachi (friend). 'Running and swimming together day and night' Sounds like a real romance to me. Wedding Bells? Are we to expect some little sparkys in the future?

Sounded like a great trip.

Yep, you're right. My friend is Japnese and Tomo is tomodachi. However, won't be having little Sparkys with these two since both are men, actually Sparky is still a teenager. Tomo is just over two and Sparky is just over one. Sparky has been gorowing up with him. The're best "Buds".
