Bluegill are on the beds and the fishing for them is excellent. Most are
being caught in 5' to 6' of water. Crickets are working best but several
other baits including artificial are working very good. Catfish are also
spawning along the rocks. Most fishermen are catching them on
nightcrawlers fished under bobbers set at 4' to 6'. Remember to fish for
the catfish early and late. Crappie are slow to spotty at best. There
are some catches being reported shallow and also along the drops inside
the bays. Largemouth are hitting jigs pitched to the buckbrush in the
bays. The largemouth are spawning and can be tricky to catch. Whitebass
have been slow as well as smallmouth this week.

TIP: Catfish spawn at night. The best times to catch spawning catfish is
very early and late in the day.

www.kentuckylakebarkley.com
