I have just moved near a lake with striped bass in it, and i don't have any idea how to fish for them. Could someone give me some pointers. I will be fishing from a float tube or an inflatable raft.
Thanks

I just moved from Utah to New Mexico, near Elephant Butte Lake. Unfortunatly there are very few people that use the New Mexico Board.

The best info on freshwater striped bass fishing you'll find anywere is www.wayneswords.com, run by Lake Powell's fisheries biologist Wayne Gustaveson. There's a great message board where you might be able to hook up with some locals who fish your lake, and there's a fishing tips section, http://www.wayneswords.com/tips.htm, where you can read about the best methods to chase them.
Good luck.
Thanks for the monster post tubedude, it really helps. I have had a hard time finding anything out about the lake because nobody i have talked to fishes.
I got ahold of a fishing proclamation today, and it looks like chumming and live bait are leagal.
There is a free fishing day in a little over a week, i will have to go try it out. Thanks eveyone for the posts
