I am going to go hunt for some muskie again in November with a group of experienced Muskie fisherman, and they are saying they will be able to get measurements and some great photos of a catch for re-building a mount of a muskie to scale if we catch one of size.

Anyone suggest a place to go to get something like this done?

What you want is not a taxidermist. You want an artist.
The better the artist, the better the fish mount will be.

Even skin mounts have to be painted with airbrushes because the color fades out of the skins when they dry out.

The thing that makes skin mounts easier is that even though the color fades, the patterns are still there in the skin.

With replicas, there is no pattern. So, you need an artist with some real skill to be able to re create an exact replica of the fish you caught.

Most of your taxidermists specialize in birds and big game and also do fish.
If I were you, I would find a taxidermist who does fish only. These are artists who specialize in quality recreations. If you are lucky, you will find someone who specializes in reproductions.
These guys will have tons of expirience in what you want.
They will be able to give you the best results.

I like Lake Fork Taxidermy. They only do fish, and specialize in reproductions. They do unbelievable work on bass, but you would have to check into thier expirience with tiger musky.
Probably the most expirienced, and highest quality replica you will find will come out of the north east, or south east canada.

While you are at it please ask what they would charge to do an 85 inch sturgeon. I can hear it now, "Honey, we need to mortgage the house so I can pay a small fortune to get a fish to put on our living room wall".
