Does anybody know anything about the fishing in Thistle Creek down by Birdseye, Utah? We have some friends down in Birdseye and we will be spending a good amount of time there. What kind of trout are they. What is the best thing to use. Any info would be much appreciated.
I used to catch a lot of nice browns in the creek. We used live grasshoppers and caught a lot. They also plant it or at least they used to. I would like to try some dry flys on them. Good luck, Flashyfish

Thistle Creek is a great little stream. Pretty much all self-sustaining browns (a cutt here and there). The DWR did restoration on a few properties during the late 90's. Fish numbers have been up steadily since then. Lots of private property, so look for unfenced areas and for stiles going over the fence. The restored areas each have access points with signs. If you're staying with Hubbs, Halls, or Evans, then you will be right on one of the restored sections. This time of year the browns should be getting aggressive. Try streamers or terrestrials for flies. If you don't mind throwing hardware, try silver spinners. Good luck.
