] Fish were everywhere! I wasn't able to get back up until last night the 27th (gotta keep the wifie happy). But last night I was totally bummed out! We each caught a fish, at the same time about 7:45. I'm thinking this otta be a great night. Then NADA, ZIP, ZILCH!![crazy] Usually they school and bunch up. We'd see a single cruise past every now and then, but they were moving! What up with that? Could it possibly be winding down this soon? Any thoughts?

Tim, I too am at somewhat of a loss. Two weeks ago there seemed to be lots more fish but smaller fish. The last time I was there, which was monday, there was a few singles and very few schools. A couple of guys said there were more right at dark. So it might be our timing. However, I am wondering if it is because of the low water or possibly water temp.
Low water: Because of the low water the bigger fish are not able to get into where the rocks are so they are finding new structure to spawn in. This is just a thought.
Water temp: About two weeks ago, the weather was calmer and a little cooler at night. When the rain and wind moved in it stirred the lake and mixed the warmer layers with the cooler, so the spawn backed off due to the warmer water in the spawn areas. A couple of reports about then had the water temp going from around 55 deg to 57 deg. However, BearLakeFishGuy reported the water temp at 49 deg a couple of day ago, so that should not be a factor now.
Thats a couple of my theories. And by no means are they scientific just WAGS. Anybody else out there got any more ideas?

Yeah, that sounds consistant. We saw all the fish early and then nothing later. We were there until 10:00 and then went over to Cisco. Nothing there either.[:/]

I have to agree with your theories.
The marina area has no more rocky structure to spawn but Cisco beach still has rocky structure out deeper than shore fisherman can cast too. I have marked a few areas that may be utilized by spawning Mack's.
Weather is always a factor and wind and waves will force the fish back to deeper water from what I am told.

Thanks Pat for your input. I would guess if the fish show up again it may be the water temp but if not I think it is the water level. I would like to here from some more people on their theories. Maybe BearLakeFishGuy or BLM have some theories. They know the Lake much better than I do. I have only been fishing for macks for a couple of years. I just know it is different from last year.
