TubeDude and I fished Redmond Reservoir and Yuba Reservoir today. Neither one of us had fished Redmond before. Started fishing Redmond about 8:20 AM and fished to around noon. TD got a few bites from his tube, but I couldn't even coax a nibble. Lots of duck hunters and some shooting. Met Ocean, Mrs Ocean and their family. We left there and headed to Yuba. Parked at the bottom of the ramp on the closed side of the ramp. I fished from the shore from my folding chair on the bottom of the ramp and TD went tubing again. We started fishing about 1:00 PM and almost immediately started catching fat rainbows. I should have taken some pictures of the males, they almost looked like Yellowstone cutts. Here are a couple of the female rainbows:

Here is TubeDude with his first rainbow.

This was my hot lure:

We ended up catching 15 fat rainbows. No pike, so we will have to return again to catch some of them. To top it all off, Pat showed me how to fillet trout so that one ends up with boneless fillets!

I read your post about going to Redmond before I read this post. Nice looking bows, how big were they?

[cool]Nice report, Kent. Man, those fish are growing like bonkers!! Didn't they just plant those Rainbows like in '03? Those are some real fatties!! Must be a lot of food in there for 'em, eh?
Did either of you catch any perchies? I know you can't keep them, but did you catch any?

You see Tyler i told you they were big and fat!It was great to meet Kent and TB .They were fishing at the state park while we were fishing at the dam.You need to bring christy to yuba. The bite was on when i got there at 230 for about an hour.We ended up with 12 bows between 14-17 inches and a bunch of others that got away. They fought pretty good with a lot of them jumping out of the water .We released all but 1 that took my jakes lure deep and started to bleed .The females are full of eggs right now and they have really cool coloring.I have fished yuba only before dark and have had sucees then.I dont know how the morning is but i bet its good fishing then too.

[size 2]Kent, have you thought of attaching an o-ring and swivel to your rainbow lure? This will help with eliimniating line twists. We do this with jigging spoons.
What was in their bellies? Perchlettes?

I usually use a swivel. This lure must not have done much line twisting because after casting for a couple hours I didn't seem to have any at all. I don't know if TD examined what they were eating.
