Anyone been to Pineview?

I was thinking of heading to pineview to start stalking the elusive tiger muskie sunday.

I was wondering what the ice conditions are like. The last I had heard was there was just a thin sheet covering the lake. I'm thinking with the cold we've had for the last few days the ice should have thickened up a bit .

Just want to make sure there's some good ice before making the drive from slc.

Any info would be a greatly welcomed[]

Hi there bigpopafish-
I drove by pineview the night before last on my way up to powder mtn. There were several large sheets drifting about and lots of open water. The sheets were strange looking, almost like the end of the season rather than first ice.. Anyway, I'd imagine it will be awhile yet until its safe. Happy Holidays

I drove by pineview this morning most of the lake is ice but did not look safe. There were some people ice skating just off the beach at cemetary point but if it were me i would wait another week.[unsure]

Thanks for the report iceman. I don't want to go for a cold water swim.[] Maybe I'll head to strawberry instead.
