Hi,

I'm looking to buy a quality 2-3 man ice tent that is light weight? I've pulled and pushed my heavy ice tent to realize I would rather forgo owning a heavy Ice 95lb CONDO and instead switch a basic ice tent that is under 50lbs. I've looked at the 2 man Eskimo clam type w/ seat at Sportmans it was over 83lbs. The Frabil 2 man was 12lbs less, but that was due to it not having seats and was priced the same as the Eskimo. I'm looking for a basic quality ( holds up to the wind) tent, under 50lbs, and sets up and down easily with a built-in plastic sled bottom. Any ideas if someone makes one?

I have the Frabill Hideout and I love it. It is rated as a 3 man tent, but 3 would be tight. Two is very comfortable though. It only weighs 46 pounds. I have spent days in this tent in bitter cold and howling weather and stayed warm with a small heater. The Frabill Venture is also a 3 man tent and only weighs 42 pounds. I think it's a little cheaper too, but I like the Hideout a little better myself. Here's the address to Frabills whole line:

I use the same Frabill and it pulls easy and is strong in the wind.

If it's just the tent you want, this is what I have:
I purchased the HT 2-man pop-up tent. Only weighs about 5 pounds, and I pull it along in my Jet Sled. If I need it I put it up. Otherwise ... What I like about it is that it goes up in 30 seconds, has black walls with 3 windows, and a floor with 2 holes. The holes I made an adjustment to. They're as wide as the tent, and when I fish with my daugter or son-in-law, we cut 2 holes about 3 feet apart and fish side by side. So my wife made a "cover" for the other hole, attached with Velcro. That way, we basically just sit over the back hole and fish from the front one. And the best part is, that cover keeps the floor down and doesn't allow wind to whip under us to make things cold. Works like a charm! I love it. Plus if it gets too windy, I can stake it down, and even use some tie down cords to keep the wind from making the tent kind of lay over. They cost about 99 bucks.
Good luck finding what you want!

I got the weight off of Cabela's site. The extra pounds must be all of the packaging necessary for them to ship it.

No, you are right Kent you have the 4 man 4000 up there. I just added the 3 man 3000's.
