Decided to take a short afternoon trip up to Lost Creek today with my daughter and my dad. You know how 4 year olds can be, so I figured a quick trip up there would be a lot of fun. Fortunately the fish cooperated with my plan, and we really had a good time for about an hour and a half of fishing. She had these 2 on the ice before we could even get rigged up! She had a great time, but got a little wet due to the slush. It's getting bad up there, 2-3 inches of slush on top of 5 inches of clear ice. The edges are really soft as well. A couple of snowmobiles got stuck in the slush, they also broke through the very edge of the ice. I'm sure with the upcoming colder nights, it will solidify again. We used small jigs, didn't seem to matter the color, but they had to be small. I only caught one on a watta cricket. There were a LOT of people fishing up there today. I was quite surprised to see so many people up there in the afternoon. I called out on the radio, but didn't get any reply.

Here is a group of Turkeys that were next to the road on the way out. Sorry about the quality of the pic, but my little camera doesn't do well on skylined shots.

Went to Lost Creek 12-30-04, we had alot of fun. Got there about 8:00 am. Fishing was good. We used whatta crickets and boogers.
Seems like green was the good color. We tipped it with waxies or a mealie. The mealworm seemed to catch more fish. We were fishing
in 55 feet of water. Usually the fish were right about 40 - 50 feet
down. It was great to reel them up that far from the bottom. The average size was 7-10 inches. They were all cutthroats.
The road to the dam was covered with snow when we got there.

By the time we left, the plow truck had already came by, and the road was just slushy. It was a good day.
