Went out to Pelican on Jan 4th and %th with insane for the game. The roads were terrible but we had the lake all to our selves. We fished straight out from the boat ramp. Fish were biting very light and Ken kicked my butt for the first few hours. We ended up catching a nice bunch of gills and insane caught a nice bass too. Great trip. We stayed overnight in Roosevelt so we could hit it a second day and not drive all day. Attached some pics from the trip

That is a great picture. Quick question how far from Duchesne is Pelican? I've been wanting to go up there but didn't want to drive all the way from home so I was thinking about staying at the cabin and then going up there.

If I remember right Pelican is about 17 miles from Duchesne. I fish it alot in the summer and those are some nice gills. It looked a little slushy. How thick was the ice?

It's about 17 miles from Roosevelt which is about 30 miles from Duchesne.

DAH I don't know what I was thinking you are right it sits between Roosevelt and Vernal.I need to get outside and clear the cobwebs out of my brain.

Ice was a solid 6 inches. the reason it looked so slushy is it had 6 inches of new snow on it and it started to warm up. By the way guys just for the record insaneforthegame caught most of the fish. As I said he kicked my butt the first day. We still did well overall
