I want to take my 3 year old grandson fishing on Saturday for a couple of hours. Would Lost Creek or Causey be easier to access for us? Both are close to home for me. DKS.

My guess would be Lost Creek. The fishing is more consistent and the hike down the dam at Causey is brutal. I'll be hitting both of them this weekend as well as Strawberry on Monday. Will report on all three monday afternoon. Good luck to you and your grandson on your fishing trip this weekend.

The hike to the lake at Lost Creek is just as bad as the hike at Causey, but the fishing is more consistent at LC. The cutts at LC were suspended when I was up there 10 days ago. I cought them in 50' of water with my jig 20' down.

DKStroutfitter, I would not recommend Causy for a youngster unless we get some colder weather. I was at Causy last night 1/12/05 and there was a nasty layer of slush on the ice. He might be able to cruise on the top but I doubt you will be able to. The hike up the dam is easier at Causy but not worth it once you get down to the lake. Jake
