[black]The reservoir has been capped for a couple days and yesterday I saw a few people fishing the west and extreme east end of it. I don't believe every part of the lake has safe ice yet but within a few days, if this weather holds, you should be able to fish everywhere.[/black]

Thanks for the update Rich, we are heading up to Bear lake on Monday, are you working that day? If not maybe I can stop by and get that tape, what do you think?

[black]Some of us have to work for a living and can't afford to take anytime off! Our company works through most holidays so we can have a week off at Xmas. Looking forward to your report. Don't worry, I'm saving that tape for you.[/black]

You going to launch off the east side or go through Ideal Beach?

I'm still holding out hope that they will plow Ideal beach, we will check it Monday and continue on to Cisco beach if it isn't plowed. If we end up going to the East side, we will probably try fishing that side. Thanks for holding that tape for me my friend.

These guys gave it a go at the swim beach today (01/15/2005). Claimed the ice was 4-5" thick. Seems like a bit much for as short a time as it's been capped. Said the fishin' was slow. One small rainbow.

A friend and I went there today also. Ice was 4"+ and nice and slick. Fishing was real slow. We tried along the south shore near the junk cars. Fished from 13 ft to 40 ft. We tried minnows, crawlers, wax worms, meal worms, and powerbait. I got one decent perch and my friend got two small trout and a micro perch. Weather sure was nice.
