What a day we had yesterday. Not a cloud in the sky, no wind, and great fishing. There was only about 5 inches of powder snow and then a good 6 inches of slush. It was all frozen in them morning so not too bad to walk out. Even the walk back around 3pm wasn't too bad. You definitely need some waterproof boots. I even tied some trash bags over my boots to be sure. Some spots were slushier than others, but it was worth it. We landed about 10 between 10:30 and 2:00. We were even fishing blind without a fishfinder. All were at the bottom. We mainly used whatta crickets with either wax worms or minnows. Seemed to hit quicker on minnows, then we ran out. We even iced 2 nice rainbows. I heard another group say they had a rainbow or two as well. Others were cuts in the slot. I need to tell HFT thanks for the advice. He gave us some great hints on how to jig and what to use. I can't believe I never knew about his shop in Kaysville. If you want some great advice and gear, definitely go to Hooked Fishing and Tackle. Thanks James. Anyway, we had a blast, and don't let the slush or snow hold you back. It was not bad at all. It was such a nice day that just being there was awesome, and the fish were icing on the cake, as well as missing work. It doesn't get much better.
