home made doughs work the best.... crawlers work well, in a place that is not abundant with tons of different species. especially bullheads, i dont even bother using crawlers at utah lake, it gets boring! i have had good success on carp with white maribou jigs, also with green rooster tails. in the provo, where it enters utah lake, use those white maribou jigs in the spring time when they are spawning, and you can kill the carp, and a few other mixed species as well!~

I've aways found that a PSE compound bow and a slightly tweeked arrow or two, or pitch fork, on a warm spring day works well at gathering up plenty of Kittie bait.
Ok so it aint jiggin', but it is giggin', does that count?

Tuber what is the favorite rig of the locals? are you talking about a arrow?

[cool]I'm not TubeDude, but it looked to me like he was talking about snagging the fish with big huge treble hooks, and that's why he included a pic of one. Could be wrong though.[crazy]

Man, I don't know if it wise to contradict TIO.[crazy] I might agree if what your saying is that most are caught by the rip and snag only because it is so common and effective. But as far as saying they occationally take a jig.... well.... I suppose that I need to invite you to Willard this spring. I've gone after them with big tube jigs in the outlet on the north dike. Big jigs like the ones we use on Bear Lake (3/4oz or larger). Yes I was intending on the rip and jerk method, however, I found them smashing my jig. Spooky buggers too! They will scatter when you cast into them, but as soon as you start dragging it through the grass along the bottom, you'll see them do a 180 stright back for you jig. Amazing to watch and fun to do cuz they are bruizers!

I also used to catch them on a green curlytailed jig when I lived in Springville. Behind the truckstop just south under the overpass there is a hole that runs under the railroad tracks and then back under the road. I used to stop there before going for the kitties. No snagging, just slurping! NEVER failed to catch my daily bait there. Haven't been there for years, and I know there have been a lot of changes. If anyone goes by let me know if it is still there.
