Hey all,
Is the road open up to Huntington Reservoir? I am imagining that there is probably a lot of snow on the res itself, anyone been up that way recently?
Any reports of road/access/ice/snow/thickness/and most importantly, fishing, would be appreciated!
Wanting to go up there this Saturday.
I have a 4x4 truck and a set of chains if needs be.

[cool]Randy, hope you have a power auger too, because ice will be close to 3 feet thick by now. fuzzyfisher is the one who knows all about Hunington. I'd send him a PM. Good luck.

...wow. I do have a power auger, but if the ice is 3 feet thick and the snow is 3 feet thick, thats 6 feet. I'm not sure I want to play that.

hey N.E.T.O. there might be 24 to 30 inches of ice on the lake.. i have not been up there for a while.. and the snow has settled down some.. more than likely the snowmobilers have i'm sure by now plowed the trail down to the ice..so might not be to bad getting on there.. as long as the ice is not so deep that you cant get your auger through the ice at all.. it shiold be good fishing for the tigers..
try getting to the west side of the dam..
and if that dont work out for you, you can always hit E-lake just down the road 3 miles..

Because the road is used by the miners, the road past Huntington, and also over to Scofield are kept plowed all winter.

i was up there last week snowmobiling, there is a TON of snow up there! I would imagine though with this week of sunny weather and all the snowmobilers that the snow will be packed down good enough to get on the ice, I'm going snowmobiling up there tomorrow morning then in the afternoon I'm going to Strawberry to do some fishing!!!

why are you going all the way over to the berry? E-lake is right there and with a snowmobile it would be a snap to get on the lake.. the fishing is better!!a bit smaller fish tho..but if your alredy up there just make a day of it there..

just a thought..
