[Smile] [black]I was just wondering if anyone made it up to the Cisco Disco and if so how it went. I stayed in the shop today but my partner went over to help cook. He said that is was pretty good but he couldn't believe how many people was over there this year. I also heard that they had road blocks on both ends, both Utah and Idaho. What is your feelings about that? - I will get some more updates over the course of the weekend and then update our website. Thanks again for all that stopped by and supported us over the weekend. Best of luck to all and please let me know your thoughts and feelings about this years Cisco run.[/black]

Me and a buddy went to cisco beach this morning, arrived at 8 and we both had our limit at 8:45. There was a lot of people there but a heck of a lot more cisco. We pulled out of the lot at 9 and a half mile down the road there were 4 F&G trucks headed that way. Why the road blocks? Glad to be a new member finally as I have visited this site manny many times. Best site around.

[crazy][black] The road blocks were to see if everyone is only taking home the legal limit of 30 per person. Also, according to local officials, they were checking for drunk drivers. Good on them for looking out for the rest of our safety but as for the Cisco limit I personally feel that they should up our keepable limit. 30 Cisco (in possession) with an estimated 9 million of them swimming around in the lake is a little rediculous to me. Especially when they only come around for 3 weeks out of the entire year. Oh well, all we can do is keep the law and try to get it changed over the next few years. Thanks for the update.......glad you had a good time.[/black]

[black]Hi Darin![/black]
[black] [/black]
[black]I was at the Cisco Disco where Jim, Scott and all the others did a tremendous job! Man, I can't say enough on how great it was. This was the first time I ate cisco and once Jim found out I liked them he kept them coming on my plate. Thanks to everyone involved! Just too cool![/black]
[black] [/black]
[black]RipNLips and I went this morning and he dipnetted while I ate scones and cisco! The water was rougher with some good rollers and ripples to make spotting the cisco a little more difficult. He didn't quite get a limit but we still had a good time.[/black]
[black] [/black]
[black]We also got checked. As always, the officers were professional and courteous. It was quite the road block they had set up. They check everything possible that could hold a cisco! LOL! I guess there are folks that would put cisco in their gear bag but not me! [/black]
[black] [/black]
[black]Again, thanks to all that made the Cisco Disco possible. If you missed it, too bad so Sad. It was way good.[/black]

[black][laugh] Wiperhunter came by the shop earlier today. He said that they didn't make it to the Disco but they went to the Rock Pile and limited out on Cisco. He said the trout fishing wasn't up to much but they did hook a few whitefish. I am glad you guys made it over to the Disco. Those guys work extremely hard in getting ready for this day. Most people, that didn't go, thought that we were trying to make money off of this event. As you know it is totally free and we want to thank all that threw in a tip, we like to at least break even....lol - As for the road blocks I just found out that they gave over 30 tickets to those that didn't get a good count on their Cisco before they left.....I guess that it was posted in the Logan paper so it was all legal shmegal.......thanks again for letting us know what you thought about it. I hope that next year will be as good as this year, however, I do pray that we have ice on the pond for next seasons festivities. [/black]

I'm glad I got a chance to meet you today and thanks again for directions to the Rock pile. I learned a good lesson today, know how your GPS works before you go out to a foggy lake. We made it back safe but another boat was lost in the fog, they called the park rangers on a radio for help in finding there way back to shore. Hopefully they made it back safe. I hope next year to make it to the Disco, thanks Darin and Jim and everyone else that makes the Cisco Disco a success. WH2

I hope you guy's had GPS! The fog got realy thick later in the day on the west side. The State parks folks were sounding thier alarms for about an hour after I got back to the cabin on the south west end by Gusses point.

BLM and I saw those state park boys in one of the pull outs near Sweetwater. Three vehicles or so sounding there sirens. I told BLM somebody was probably lost in the fog out on the lake. Sounds like my theory was correct. I take my GPS and a compass for backup whenever I go out. If the GPS gives out, I can at least drive in a straight line toward shore with the compass. Those guys were probably going in circles in the fog until they heard the sirens to guide them.
