No one answered your post so...
A few days ago I read that the road was bad just getting to the bottom of the dam. I don't remember the ice thickness, there are already people fishing up there and it has been quite cold here in Logan the past day or two. - So it should be fine.
I too am anxious to hear about Porcupine.

I thought I would bring this back to the top. I'm planning a trip for Saturday. Is there any of you cache valley boys with more current Info? I would like to drive to the base of the dam if possible.
Thanks

[laugh] I talked with a neighbor that said he has gone up two saterdays in a row and he had to hike up the hill. He has not found any Kokanee yet. A few people were fishing close to shore and catching a few trout.

Thanks for the update. I would love to catch some kokes this year!! If I could get in to them it might even be worth a long walk up that hill!! Thanks, Jake

Thanks for responding. I don't mind walking up from the base of the dam. I guess I'll have to try it out tomorrow.
