Took the snowmobiles out across the ice over to Renegade Saturday morning. Talk about a cold ride. Not too many peolpe fishing back in this area all day. I think we seen four or five other groups. We iced 31 slot cutts and 1 rainbow between three of us. Our best action came in 40 feet of water. Green crickets and white boogers tipped with mealworm or wax worm seemed to work the best. We stayed all day and headed for the truck at 5:00pm. Looked like there was a pretty good crowd aroud Haws point and plenty of people fishing around the marina we hit the ice. The Marcum flasher that I bought a few weeks ago paid off again. I caught 17 of the 32 myself thanks to the flasher. I could have iced more if I wouldn't have lost the five or six on the way to the hole or if I could have hooked everyone that hit. Just about every fish that came in the screen would hit at least one time. Thanks again HFT (James) for talking me into buying one.

I could not beleive all the garbage and beer cans left on the ice at the end of the day by the marina. People need to figure out how to take care the outdoors. Make me sick to see that.
Well done Crestliner. I really want to get back to Renegade but lack of transport keeps me from it. DOH!
How big was the bow? Any size to it?

The bow wasn't too bad. It went about 18 inches. Nice looking fish. Let him go along with everything else we caught so he could fight another day.
What a nice day. I wish I had been up there after reading your story.

That really sucks about all of the trash left behind at the marina![pirate] Some people's kids are so damn ignorant and irresponsible! You know, those are probably the same people that keep fish in the slot too, and littler up the shoreline during summer with their worm and powerbait containers, beer cans, etc. It makes you wonder if their parents were that ignorant too, or if they are just one apple that fell too far from the tree! They think that their mother works there and she will pick up their messes for them or something! I hate people like that![mad][mad]
Fortunately, where I've been ice fishing this year, I haven't found any trash yet left behind, and it's been a pleasant surprise. Your post even solidifies my belief more that a lot jerks fish the marina area as I stated about a month ago of why I don't fish there anymore (besides the slow fishing on weekends due to all of the pressure there). You have a lot of jerks on snomobiles (not talking about you crestliner, or any other bft members) that buzz about 20 feet away from where you are fishing at high speeds, garbage left behind, etc. In my opinion, the marina is only a good place to go icefishing on weekdays, when most of the jerks are at work.
