Had the day off and hit Rock Cliffs today. Kastmaster joined me there. Got there about 2:00 PM. The walk out wasn't too bad with the new snow. We fished in 19 ft. of water. Fairly typical fare for the X, steady action on lots of smallish perch and a few better ones. The perchies ran smaller this time compared to my last trip here, but we did manage to get a nice mess of decent ones too. We were hoping to run into some trout, they were tougher to come by, but I did get 2 modest ones. Perfect conditions, and 12-14 inches of ice. There was one other group out there. I didn't see how they did. Left about 5:30. Rockport still has better size on the perchies, but if you want to get away from the crowds and get some exercise, this works too.

Were you able to drive down to the new boat ramp, or did you park back by the sign? If you parked by the sign is there snow on the road (much easier to drag a sled through snow than through mud) from there on down?

I drove down to the ramp, dropped off our gear, then drove back to the sign, parked there and walked back. The other group did the same thing. It was mud from the sign to the ramp, then snow from the ramp to the ice.
