Hey All,

After getting what turned out to be BAD info, I headed for the Rock Cliffs area at Jordanelle. (supposedly 10"-12" ice...NOT!!!) I walked down to the water and the part with ice is very shallow. You can still see the tops of the submerged brush sticking through the ice. Open water out beyond that. I bagged it and headed over to Rockport and caught lots of tasty fishies...

Those Jordanelle slime rockets will have to wait until spring when I WILL seek revenge!!

[cool]Wow! That place must have receeded fast as far as the ice goes then. Hellsangler69 was just catching browns on that ice a week or two ago. Welp, hope that water warms up to 42 degrees soon so the smallies will start to get after it! I'm gonna catch myself a lot of smallies this year!

Wow! I was going to go up there today! Its darn good I didn't then. That really sucks. I wanted 50 little perchies for kitty cat bait this spring. Oh well. Maybe I can take the toon up there instead.

Did you access it from the new boat ramp or from the road side? There were plenty of ice when I was there two weeks ago with another BFT'er. We got on the ice from the new boat ramp and walked about 1/4 mile close to the wakeless buoys. There was a lot of submerged brush that were above the ice due to the low water this season. The weather must have warmed up really fast in that area of the Jordanelle.

I parked at the top of the boat ramp and walked out to the "ice"
I didn't venture out onto the hard water because the ice looked pretty rotten. Unless the bottom drops off really fast there i can't imagine the water depth being over 6' or so where the ice gave out.

Some one else will have to go out there to correct me on this, I'm stayin on dry land at this lake.

I was out checking the ice near the marina at hailstone last friday and there was six inches of ice, I fished for a while with no success except 4" perch. This morning however on the way to work I noticed a bunch of new open water that wasn't there last week. We got a bunch of rain up there over the weekend that really trashed what little ice there was. I don't know about rockcliffs, but the marina looked pretty sketchy.
